Mola Setti: 28" The Mola Setti is uniquely shaped and differs dramatically from the Mantii, Euro and Demi. Mola Softlight reflectors are adaptable to nearly all strobe heads via the use of the metal insert from Chimera and other manufacturers' speed rings. These inserts are available from Optechs Digital as an accessory that is sold separately from the Mola reflector.

Light beams tend to radiate from a light source in all directions, from 1 to 360 degrees in all dimensions of space. The sun, or even a good old fashioned light bulb, clearly demonstrates this tendency. While the inclination to scatter is useful in many applications, it's the enemy of the photographer seeking to control the direction and intensity of light.
To reduce scatter, photographers use reflectors, which gather beams headed in the wrong direction and redirect them toward a subject. This is where the patented designs of the Mola come to the rescue.
Light Shaping:
Mola reflectors create an even core of light surrounded by a smoothly graduated-feathered edge. There is about a half stop difference from the center to the outer edge. Because the Mola reflects lights' natural shape, the natural pearly aura of complexion highlights are accentuated and have an unusual opportunity to precisely control the intensity of specular highlighting.
Light Output:
The Mola's efficiency is equal to or greater than other modified parabolic reflectors. And thanks to a specially formulated reflector coating, Mola produces light of exceptional clarity. In use, Mola reflectors provide a slight warming effect to the light. Internal and external diffusers are used to modify light temperature and dampen UV light output.
